Woodland Walks

Booking is essential for our Woodland Walk sessions, as these are always popular year after year.

These relaxed family photography sessions are perfect for all ages, and pets are more than welcome to join in, too.

For the best woodland days, I recommend booking your session between September and October, when the leaves are beginning to change, and the setting feels beautifully autumnal.

As always, the British weather can be unpredictable, so once your date is secured, I’ll keep an eye on the forecast. If needed and possible, we can reschedule to ensure you have the best experience.

I absolutely love family sessions in the woods. Woodland walks are perfect for children because they give them the freedom to play, explore and be themselves.

Little ones naturally want to collect pine cones, crunch through leaves, run along the paths and discover the world around them — and I fully encourage it. When parents join in too, that’s when the most beautiful, natural moments happen.

So forget the camera, enjoy the fresh air, and let your children be little. The cuddles, laughter, muddy boots, autumn colours and love-filled moments are always the photographs you’ll treasure most.

Mini sessions hold up to six people so the photographer can focus on capturing real moments instead of posing large groups.

Mini Session Limits

• Maximum size: Six people.
• Goal: Fast, fun, and natural photos.

Large Groups

• Size: More than six people.
• Action: Book a full session instead.

If you tell me how many people are in your group, I can help you decide which session type fits best.

You don't need to bring anything, although consider snacks or bribes (like bubbles or a ball) for the little ones!

Once you have booked your session, you will receive your booking confirmation, which includes all the important information, such as location, parking, and directions to the shooting area where we can capture those candid moments during our woodland walks.

Woodland Walk sessions are all about exploring, playing and having fun together — and yes, kicking leaves is definitely encouraged.

Although the session takes place on a fairly level area in Colwyn Bay, children will naturally want to move around, so comfortable clothing and practical footwear are recommended.

For outfit colours, natural and earthy tones work beautifully in the woods. Think creams, browns, rust, mustard, olive, beige, soft knits and cosy layers.

You don’t need to match perfectly. Coordinated outfits always photograph best, so choose two or three colours and have everyone wear something that ties in with that palette. This helps your gallery feel beautifully connected while still allowing everyone’s personality to shine.

During your Woodland Walk session, the focus is simply on having fun together.

Think running along woodland paths, playing tag, collecting sticks, leaves, and little “treasures,” spotting wildlife, cuddling up together, and letting your children explore naturally.

There’s no pressure to pose perfectly. I’ll gently guide you when needed, but most of the magic happens in those playful, in-between moments — the laughter, little adventures, muddy boots, cosy cuddles and genuine connection.

These relaxed woodland sessions are all about capturing your family exactly as you are, creating heartwarming memories you’ll treasure for years to come.
